The 2024 offseason saw the Pittsburgh Steelers deal Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers, which sparked suspicions that Omar Khan would soon acquire a wide receiver.
Not that this didn’t try, but it didn’t happen for nothing. The Steelers reportedly asked the 49ers to trade veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel at the 2024 NFL Draft. In the offseason, they were also connected to Brandon Aiyuk.
With Roman Wilson, a third-round rookie draft choice, and three free agents, the Steelers have a revamped wide receiver group heading into the summer. Many fans currently believe that Wilson, Van Jefferson, Quez Watkins, Calvin Austin III, or Scotty Miller will be the one to replace George Pickens in 2024.
