Patrick Bamford of Leeds could be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign due to a foot injury.
The Premier League team announced that although the 28-year-old has torn a ligament, surgery is not necessary.
Rob Price, the club doctor, added Bamford will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks, having sustained the injury a year ago.
“Despite treatment and a prolonged period of rehabilitation, the injury has progressed from a partial tear to a full rupture,” stated Price.
Bamford will find it difficult to return with eight weeks remaining in the season as 16th-place Leeds battles to avoid relegation.
The England international suffered an ankle injury in September and only made his comeback as a goal-scoring substitute in the 2-2 draw against Brentford in December. This is his most recent setback.
