Stefanos Tsitsipas is back to face..

After defeating Laslo Djere, two-time Monte Carlo champion Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the second round of the Masters 1000 competition. Djere lost a break against the world No.

12 and had to leave the match in the middle of the second set because of pain in his right arm. Tsitsipas stated that he plans to employ “fun play” as a strategy in the competition this year.Due to Laslo Djere’s injury withdrawal from their match, Stefanos Tsitsipas advanced to the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters.
With a break of serve, Tsitsipas was up 6-3 3-2 when Djere opted to withdraw from the match because of discomfort in his right arm.

The next opponent for World No. 12 Tsitsipas is either Nicolas Jarry of Chile or Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina.”Such a finish surprised me,” Tsitsipas remarked after the match.

“When I play, this is not something that happens very often, but I performed my job effectively. Naturally, I’m hoping for a quick recovery for him because getting hurt while on tour is not fun.I think I did a fair job at it. I was pleased with how I started. I played the first set pretty much with very good consistency and produced good pace on the ball. “I really enjoyed getting a better consistency on my serve towards the end and I hope I can keep mixing it up with fun play,” the player said. “I think things are looking good and I’m hoping to keep going in the same way.”
